A graduate of Ryerson University in Canada, Mr. Ahmed has held pivotal roles, including his 30-year tenure as Environmental Health Supervisor with the Royal Commission Jubail in Saudi Arabia. Rasheed Ahmed graduated from Ryerson University, Canada, in 1977 and began his career as an Environmental Health Officer with the City of North York in Toronto. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Ahmed contributed extensively across multiple program areas, including food control, environmental sanitation, and communicable disease control. As a member of the Canadian Hospital Infection Control Association (CHICA), he actively supported the city’s hospitals, long-term care facilities, and daycares in infection control measures.
From 1982 to 1986, Mr. Ahmed served as a professional instructor, appointed by the City of North York, to train Environmental Health students from Ryerson University. He developed and implemented the North York Procedure Manual as a training tool for public health students. Additionally, as a key member of the city’s Environmental Health Education Committee, he supported the management of special projects. Mr. Ahmed was also appointed by Ontario’s Ministry of Health Food Safety Task Force to ensure food safety during VIP visits to North York, Ontario.
In 1987, Mr. Ahmed assumed the role of Environmental Health Supervisor with the Royal Commission Jubail in Saudi Arabia, a position he held for three decades. In this capacity, he was instrumental in developing and enforcing Environmental Health and Food Safety Programs in Jubail Industrial City. His commitment to food safety extended beyond Jubail, as he led training initiatives for health organizations across multiple cities in Saudi Arabia. His work also included promoting public health awareness throughout the local community, further enhancing the impact of his expertise.

Over the years, Mr. Ahmed has been involved in significant public health initiatives, including his work with the Canadian Hospital Infection Control Association and his appointment by the Ontario Ministry of Health for food safety oversight during VIP events.
Mr. Ahmed was the appointed Coordinator fo the Middle East Group of the Federation and was a member of IFEH's Board of Directors.
The International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) represents 41 national environmental health organizations throughout the world, which includes more than 40,000 professionals.
In 2007, Mr. Ahmed was awarded the prestigious NSF Food Safety Leadership Award, recognizing his substantial contributions to advancing food safety standards in the industry.
In addition, NSF awarded the city of Royal Commission for Jubail with 2010 NSF Food Safety Leadership Award recognizing Mr. Ahmed and his team of health professionals for implementing an acclaimed food safety management program in the region.
